Hi, I'm Sara

Are you struggling with dating? Experiencing challenges with romantic or other relationships? Are you dealing with divorce or loss of a loved one? Do you find it challenging to notice your own needs and express yourself? Are you going through a difficult transition time in your life such as just graduating or starting college? I can help you work through these challenges and meet your goals!

I really enjoy helping people connect to their intuition, trusting themselves, and exploring their identity. I love helping my clients find more glimmers in their life!

Does your child need extra support to get through a difficult time? Or to heal from a painful experience? I also use play and art to help children 5-10 with grief, trauma, transitions, and anxiety/depression. I find it easy to connect with children and children feel comfortable with me.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am trained in integrative Somatic trauma therapy and have a certification working with individuals currently in or recovering from relationships with people with Narcissistic traits. I have certifications in clinical competence working with LGBTQ youth and families, Trauma-focused CBT therapy, and Trauma-focused CBT for LGBTQ youth. I truly cherish the work I do with others and value the sacredness of our time together. I enjoy guiding and supporting you to hone in on your strengths, navigate the stressors of life, and live mindfully to reach your full potential. It is such a privilege to work with individuals and be a part of their journey.

I am currently working as an adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University working with graduate students to support and guide them while they see clients. I have seven years of experience working with adolescents and young adults. I have been working with clients for the past four years. I am really passionate about working with folks that are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and I am a queer affirming therapist. I also love working with fellow therapists!

I believe it is important to honor your individual experiences and provide mental health interventions utilizing an integrative model based on unique client needs. My approach is strength-based and collaborative. I incorporate traditional talk therapies such as Psychodynamic to help gain insight into our patterns and relationships, Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT) to teach skills to help manage emotions, and Gestalt therapy to bring our work into the present moment and connect authentically. I also come from a Somatic therapy approach incorporating modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Experiencing. Our body stores information, memories and emotions, instinctively. This therapeutic style engages with those stored or stuck memories to help to deepen our work together and the processing. In my clinical experience, I have noticed how transformative and quick the progress can be with somatic therapies.

I earned my Masters in Marriage and Family therapy at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. I have been working with clients for the past four years. Prior to graduate school I gained experience working with adolescents with comorbid diagnoses and crises at a residential treatment center for 2.5 years. I gained my training in Integrative Somatic trauma therapy through the Embody Lab. I also have experience working as an equine-assisted therapist for 2.5 years.

In my free time, I enjoy being in nature, dancing, being around animals, spending time with friends, family, and my cat.

My fees are $200/45 minute session or $350/90 min session.  For couples my fee is $225/hr.

I have a limited number of sliding scale spots available.
