I see the best in the people I work with and support their growth and development.
When not providing therapy:
You will find me playing basketball, taking care of and playing with my two kids, or hosting dinner with friends. I love playing games. I grew up playing trading card games and still love a good video game. I connect very well with children and adults with these interests.

Play Therapy
Play therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses play as a medium for children to express thoughts, emotions, and experiences that may be difficult to articulate verbally. Through toys, art, and imaginative play, children process challenges, build coping skills, and develop healthier behaviors. Guided by a trained therapist, play therapy creates a safe, developmentally appropriate space for emotional healing and growth.
Trauma-Focused CBT
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is a structured, evidence-based treatment designed to help children, adolescents, and their caregivers overcome the impact of traumatic experiences. It combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with trauma-sensitive interventions to address distorted thoughts, manage distressing emotions, and build coping skills. TF-CBT also includes gradual exposure to trauma memories in a safe, supportive way, helping clients integrate and heal from their experiences.
Art in Therapy
This approach weds traditional therapy methods with art-making which helps you communicate and process in an embodied and nonverbal way. Art-making can aid in expression of feelings when words aren't enough and is a great approach for you if you consider yourself quiet or creative. Even with limited words spoken, symptoms can be reduced and overall wellness improved through the use of clinical art therapy. You will be provided with a variety of high-quality materials as an avenue for self-exploration and growth. Art approaches you can use in session include painting, drawing, sculpting with clay, throwing on the pottery wheel, collage, poetry, and creating comic books. We shape sessions to uniquely fit your needs, strengths, & interests. Rachel and Maggie completed their education in Clinical Art Therapy at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles and both are Registered Art Therapists. Sara and Danny also use art with her clients and learned under Rachel's supervision..
Nonviolent Communication
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a compassionate communication approach that helps people connect more authentically with themselves and others. It encourages expressing feelings and needs honestly while listening with empathy, creating space for mutual understanding and respect. By focusing on what matters most—our shared humanity—NVC supports deeper relationships, peaceful conflict resolution, and meaningful connection.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting harnesses and taps into the body’s natural ability to heal. It promotes healing in your brain and body, resulting in positive psychological impacts. Brainspotting (BSP) locates points in the client’s visual field that help to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain. This goes deeper than traditional talk therapy because it heals in the more primal "fight or flight" area of your brain which leads to subsequent changes in your neocortex, or"thinking" part of your brain. This helps resolve symptoms and reactions that might feel "automatic" or out of your control. When a Brainspot is stimulated, the deep brain appears to reflexively signal the therapist that the source of the problem has been found. BSP can also be used to find and strengthen our natural resources and resilience. Expansion Brainspotting is effective in enhancing performance and strengthening desired states of being. Expansion Brainspots have amazing healing potential.
Client-Centered Therapy
Client-centered therapy is a compassionate, nonjudgmental approach that trusts each person’s innate capacity for growth and healing. Rooted in empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuine connection, it creates a safe space where clients feel deeply heard and understood. Through this supportive relationship, clients are empowered to explore their feelings, clarify their values, and move toward greater self-acceptance and well-being.
