About Maggie Knobbe
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Art Therapist in Thousand Oaks, my goal is to help people of all ages navigate uncertainty. I love celebrating the uniqueness of each person, and create a welcoming space for people to express themselves freely and grow. Art has always been a passion of mine, and I believe that everyone has the power to express themselves through art.
These experiences influenced my culturally humble and humanistic perspective, in which I value my clients as the experts in their own life.

What it feels like to work with me
My sessions are tailored to each client’s specific needs. I love finding what works on an individual level for each person to achieve their goals, and believe in noticing the steps of progress (great and small) throughout the journey.
My therapeutic approach is an eclectic blend of clinical art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic/play therapy, and mindfulness based practices. I also integrate my training in EMDR to incorporate a somatic therapy approach.
Where I shine
I specialize in child therapy with elementary school students to help them reach their goals to feel calmer, more confident, and less distressed. Through individual therapy and groups, I work well helping clients with emotional regulation, distress tolerance, boundaries in friendships, interpersonal communication, social skills, managing depression and anxiety, mindfulness, and increasing focus.
I also work with adults who want relief from anxiety, depression and the impacts of trauma.
